Amana Bank Toastmasters Club held its Club Charter and Installation Ceremony recently at the Sri Lankan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management attended by members of the Toastmasters fraternity and employees of the Bank. Amana Bank Chief Executive Officer Mr Mohamed Azmeer graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while District Governor of Toastmasters District 82 (- Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu) Distinguished Toastmaster Yusuf Jeevunjee was the Guest of Honor.
Speaking at the installation ceremony Amana Bank Chief Executive Officer Mr Mohamed Azmeer stated that “Toastmasters is a unique platform for individuals to not only develop their speaking skills but also improve their leadership and communications skills. What really stands out in Toastmasters is the fact that the members themselves evaluate each other and give feedback, keeping in line with the theme of friends helping friends or in the Bank’s case colleagues helping colleagues. I believe that Toastmasters can facilitate the grooming of the required skill set for the future leaders of the Bank.”
Division Governor, Division J TM Arshad Mohideen delivered an inspirational key note address which was preceded by the address from the Guest of Honor DTM Yusuf Jeevunjee.
The Installation ceremony also witnessed the induction of the charter members of the Club which was carried out by Area Governor, Area 2, Division J, TM Shiham Nawaz. The installation of club office bearers was conducted by Asst. Division Governor Education &Training, Division J, TM Sanjeewa Fonseka. The Charter Executive Committee of the Amana Bank Toastmasters Club comprises of TM Shazuli Raheem (President), TM Hisham Alif (Vice President Education), TM Marshad Barry (Vice President Membership), TM Azim Rali (Vice President Public Relations), TM Numair Cassim (Secretary), TM Ramakishnan Kirubaharan (Treasurer) and TM Nuwan Fernando (Sergeant-at-Arms).
