Premier men’s wear label, EKKO launched its online flagship store at a gala event recently held at the Hilton Poolside, which also saw the launch of a new range of casual outfits for the energetic youth.
EL Holdings, the designer, manufacturer and distributor of EKKO established in 2013 under the ownership of Lalantha and Erosha Watudura, was judged the industry ‘Best Brand’ at Mercedes Benz Fashion and Apparel Awards in 2015 and since then, EKKO has been making great strides with a dedicated following amongst both fashion-conscious Sri Lankan men.
The brainchild of Lalantha Watudura, who has an extensive knowledge of both the fashion and garment industry, spanning the United States, Far East, South Asia and Africa, EKKO is the culmination of his personal dream.
EL Holdings Chairman and Creative Director Lalantha Watudura said that soon EKKO would launch its formal line of clothing as well.
“Sine we entered the market, we have been able to make an impact especially on the youth and the industry as a whole. All of us needs to join hands to turn our island into a paradise for fashion. The ultimate goal should be making our beautiful island an export hub for fashion,” he added.
Amongst the speakers were Sri Lanka Design Festival Founder Linda Speldewinde, Mercedes-Benz Passenger Vehicle Sales Business Unit Manager Dinesh Gunaratne, Colombo Fashion Week President Ajal Vir Singh and Kapruka Founder and Chairman Dulith Herath.

EKKO has partnered with Grasshoppers, a subsidiary of Kapruka, to facilitate the delivery service and collection of payments. The first online purchaser was Sri Lankan cricketer Dinesh Chandimal.
