Hayleys Advantis unveils ‘Venus’ int’l distribution centre

Advantis Free Zone (AFZ) recently launched their second and brand new international distribution centre, ‘Venus’, one of the most sophisticated international distribution centres to be established in the country to-date. 


The facility which caters to all green channel free zone operations with absolute convenience, is the largest facility of its kind in Sri Lanka, with Ground +7 high racking capabilities.


Speaking about the new facility, Chairman of Hayleys PLC Mohan Pandithage said, “Our country possesses a locational advantage that is ideal in becoming a key logistics hub within the South Asian region, and the ‘Venus’ facility of AFZ will enable us to further contribute to this outcome by facilitating entrepot trade for a significant number of foreign and local companies.”


Sprawled over an 8 acre property strategically located in the Katunayake Export Processing Zone, the new facility is equipped with state of the art technology and 26 loading bays with fully automated dock doors to ensure the highest levels of safety and efficiency of handling cargo. 


Managing Director of Hayleys Advantis Limited, Ruwan Waidyaratne said, “The green channel access offered through Free Zones will undoubtedly help hassle free cargo movements for potential clients. Infrastructure investments of this nature will also help position Sri Lanka better and enhance the country’s global profile.”


Meanwhile the Director of Advantis Free Zone, Amal Rodrigo stated, “We have the capability to offer any type of value addition which a client may require, from simple operations such as stickering to more complex operations such as assembly and manufacturing. We also operate under the highest quality standards and ensure we are compliant with Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism or CTPAT, in all our operations.”


The facility also places emphasis on environmental sustainability, with operations being conducted under a fully automated lighting system and a warehouse temperature control system, whichtakes maximum advantage of available sunlight for energy conservation, taking Advantis towards green logistics.
