The one and only concern of the present regime is to stay in power for ever. All their actions are focused towards this. They do not in the least care as to what happens in achieving it. This is very clearly evident if you'll analyze all what has taken place since the elections.
Until and unless the country is cornered into a situation where it is unable to redeem itself, there is not going to be any appreciable change.
In the history of our country we have not fought and won any rights. Whatever we received were grants/gratis.

Donkeys do not have ears to listen and eyes to read. Pity the Island that do not have sages.

The writer speaks with an in- depth knowledge on the subject . He very eloquently foresees the future with extraordinary clarity . He should be taken very seriously. His perceptions of the future are based on the past experiences of the causes and effects of a Sinhala rascist surge that exploded the country into a violent civil war. The aftermath of the 30 years of war left an indelible scar upon Sri Lanka. If the powers that be ignores the obvious signs and makes no effort to nip it in the bud on time and foolishly decides to display their show of strength this island could again be embroiled in another bitter feud, God knows for how long. The terrors of war should not be taken idly or downplayed. WAR is ugly. Let us live together in peace and harmony and together enjoy of the fruits of life. Peace to all.

Mr. Jayatilaka is 100% perfect in his assessment of the present situqtion. If this Buddhist extremism is allowed to carry on unabated, they will ruin the country. Government has to act fast to avoid another communal problem. Sinhalese, Muslims and Tamils should be able to live freely in the country irrespective of their different cultures, religions and beliefs etc., These extremist monks are acting against the Buddhist ethics and principals .
