Three foreign nationals in two separate incidents were arrested recently on the charges of illegal trading and overstaying thus violating immigration and emigration regulations.
In one incident, two Pakistan nationals who had outstanding warrants issued against them in connection with money scamming were taken into custody from Rajagiriya by the Welikada Police.
Police said the duo aged 28 and 30 had been engaged in trading valid visas. They were to be produced in the Hulftsdorp Magistrate’s Court.
On the second instance, the Galle Harbour Police arrested a Nigerian for overstaying. The 45-year-old suspect was arrested by the officers at a barricade near the Galle Bridge. He was to be produced in the Galle Magistrate’s Court.
