Rs.5000 allowance for special abilities individuals

The Government has decided to increase the monthly allowance of persons with special abilities by Rs. 2,000 from July 1, the Finance Ministry said.  
Accordingly, the monthly allowance would be increased up to Rs.5000.  
Around 32,000 persons had been registered under the Ministry of Social Empowerment and they had been paid with an allowance of Rs.3, 000 until now. About 40,000 people had been registered in the expectation of receiving allowances.  
According to the 2019 budget proposal 2019, the allowance would be paid to 72,000 persons from June 1.   
Rs.4,350 million had been allocated for the payment of allowance and the ministry of finance has issued a circular in this regard on Tuesday.
