Sri Lanka’s first ever Faculty of Technology, built at a cost of Rs.3 billion for the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, will be opened by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa today.
The faculty complex has been constructed in the Technology Park at Pitipana, Homagama.
Chancellor of the Sri Jayewardenepura University and Prelate of Kotte Chapter Ven. Dr. Ittapana Dhammalankara Thera, Chairman of the University Grants Commission and former Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Sampath Amaratunge and present Vice Chancellor Professor Sudantha Liyanage too are to grace the event that is scheduled to commence at 10 a.m.
