“Polluting our Environment”, is the worst cancer of today and is also the cause of the devastating cancers that our human beings are suffering, said Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcom Ranjith at the launching of a website dedicated to the prevention of diseases. He mentioned that interfering with our natural habitat created by God, by cutting down trees and vandalizing our God-given environment is the main cause. Living in harmony with nature is one of the disease-preventing principles that this author Francis Madiwela is talking about.
The Cardinal also commented on this website creator’s idea, when the whole world is engulfed with the fear of the devastating coronavirus. He mentioned that this type of virus also could be traced back to the selfishness of human beings who are trying to destroy the environment for shortsighted monetary gain.
He warned our leaders that if this trend is not reversed our present habitable green planet will turn red and not going to tolerate any human or non-human beings. Living with our natural habitat and communion with nature is one of the principles that the website is advocating. By appreciating the sun and the moon and the planets and the stars, the green trees, colourful flowers and birds in the air are phenomenon that we should live with, not only appreciating them but also preserving and conserving them.
We, men and women interfere with our natural habitat created by God, by cutting down trees and vandalizing our God given environment. Living in harmony with nature is one of the disease-preventing principles that this author is talking about. Following such basic and simple principles can prevent diseases which are draining the hard earned financial resources of a family. He advocated strategies proposed in this website as measures of preventing illnesses.
