Fairly heavy rainfall can be expected in most areas of the country today evening, the Meteorology Department said.   


They said heavy showers could be expected in Northern, North-Central and Eastern provinces. Moreover, slightly heavier showwry condition is expected in Northern and Eastern provinces. Rainfall of 50-75 mm and misty conditions are to be expected in Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces. Similar rainfall can be expected in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.   
Thundershowers can be expected in coastal areas extending from Kankasanturai to Potuvil via Trincomalee and Batticaloa. Similar thundershowers are to be expected today evening in sea areas from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle.
