Actor Ryan Van Rooyan, who was in remand custody over a month on charges of possessing cannabis, was released from the case after being imposed a fine of Rs.4,000 yesterday by the Matara Magistrate.
The actor was released after his lawyer informed the Magistrate Isura Nettikumara that his client pledge guilty for the charges.
The Motor car of the actor which was in the police custody was also released on a bond of Rs. 150,000.
The actor who arrived in the country after deported from Dubai on April 3 was arrested after police found 5.7 grams of Kerala Cannabis from his car.
The actor left the court after paying the fine. His wife, daughter and relatives were seen outside the court to accompany the actor.
