The Department of Examinations requested candidates who would be applying for the GCE A/L examinations for 2019 as private candidates, should give only the permanent address when filling the application.
“Applicants are divided as school and private applicants when calling for the examinations at the national level,” Examination Department Commissioner Sanath B. Pujitha said.
He said the school applicants would be considered as applicants from Government Schools and Schools approved for receiving Government aid or not.
In this regard, a common application was obtained with the signature of the Principal of the school, he said.
Apart from the above, all other applicants (Private Educational institutions /International Schools/others) fall into the category of private applicants.
When sending applications for the examinations, private applicants should send their applications separately.
A Grama Niladhari should certify the information about the permanent residence of the applicant in the Grama Niladhari Division, the signature and the residential address of the applicants.
“It has been revealed that there were occasions on which applicants have mentioned the address of the Educational Institution instead of the private applicants’ addresses. On such occasions, there would emerge a difficult situation for the Grama Niladhari, when certifying such information,” he said.
