This project was initiated by Dr Sashikaran in April last year and a Medical Team from Sydney, Australia, visited Kilinochchi and made an assessment study.
The Rotary Club of Colombo Mid City, handed over Orthopaedic equipment, valued over Rs 23 million, to the Kilinochchi Hospital on July 19, 2020.

The Kilinochchi Hospital Orthopaedic Department refurbishment, sponsored by the Rotary International District 9685, supported by the Rotary Clubs of Chatswood Sunrise & Hills-Kellyville and also a grant from the Rotary Foundation and the Australia Medical Aid Foundation and supported by the Rotary Club of Colombo Mid City. Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million business leaders’ friends and problem solvers.
For more than 115 years, Rotary’s people of action, have used their passion, resource, energy and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects and we stay committed to the end. “We believe that we have a shared responsibility to resolve issues and make the world, a happy place to live for every human being,” a media release regarding the project said.
