U.H.E Group places Ella as adventure tourism destination

 U.H.E. Group, the umbrella company to world-renowned brands Halpé Tea, 98 Acres Resort and Spa in Ella and the Secret Hotel Chain (located in Kandy and Ella), recently celebrated the launch of its 'Adrenaline & Adventure Tourism' series in Ella. The event which took place at the Lotus Ballroom – Shangri-La Colombo, welcomed over 220 VIPs and Travel and Tourism sector officials.

Adding to its illustrious portfolio of products and experiences, the U.H.E Group announced the official launch of the Flying Ravana Adventure Park – South Asia’s second-longest Zipline at approximately 550 meters long; 4wd Quad Bike/ATV adrenaline rides across the natural trails of Ella’s mountain-side; abseiling, along with a host of exciting adventure activities catering to the experiential travellers frequenting the region.

The event also acted as a platform of appreciation for travel agents, officials and others in the tourism sector who have aided in the continued progress of Ella and the nation’s tourism as a whole. 

Commenting on the success of the event, U.H.E Group Director Marketing Eranda Aberathna noted, ‘It was an absolute pleasure to host so many of the industry’s thought leaders, influencers and titans. Sri Lanka is indeed blessed to have such a diversely attractive location for tourists. The Adventure/Adrenaline tourism sector has yet to be captured by the international market for Sri Lanka. It is our prerogative as a Group to ensure the continued progress of the nation as we rebuild from 2019 and as we continue to do our part to support and uplift the industry, the country and its opportunities, we foresee the importance of experiential travel’.

Attendees of the event also received raffle draw prizes amounting to Rs. 400,000 in total – from 98 Acres, The Secret Ella, The Secret Kandy, and Gift Hampers courtesy of Halpé Tea.
