Clarence Wijewardana revolutionized Sinhala pop music with the setting up of ‘Moonstones’ in the mid sixties, together with evergreen Annesley Malawana. Music fans will be in for a treat when the Moonstones Memories show is held at the BMICH on July 28.
Moonstones was originated in Ratnapura with the backing of Sangabo Corea. Moonstones dominated the music scene in Sri Lanka with hitslike ‘Mango Nanda’, ‘Kalu Maama’, ‘Ruwan Puraya’ , ‘Kageda Gon Wassa’, ‘Ramani’ ‘Dunhinda Manamali’, ‘Goyam Kapanawa’, ‘Dilhani’ and hundreds of others.
