We begin a new year as well as a new decade this year. One tends at this time to reflect on the year just ended. It has not been a good one for me on the whole, but also brought some good times which will remain forever in the recesses of my mind, while I try to forget the bad ones.
The daily rhythms of life have grown slower with the passage of time and age and it’s a difficult for one who has been as active as me, to cope with adjusting to a slower pace of life. The spirit is willing although the flesh is now weak. In retrospect, I dwell on what the last year brought me and where I hope the next will take me.
These thoughts sometimes come with pain and regret. Yet the thought of a New Year fills me with both hope and expectancy. It is an opportunity for a fresh start, no matter what the last year held. I thank God for new additions to the family, new relationships, for those who have gone out of their way to be incredibly kind and thoughtful to me in a myriad ways. May I wish all readers a peaceful, happy New Year and good health and prosperity in the new decade.
