The suspects in remand custody in connection with vandalizing more than four statues of the Buddha in Mawanella, were further remanded till June 27 by Mawanella Magistrate Upul Rajakaruna today.
The incident of vandalising Buddha statues was reported from Mawanella on December 24 and 25, 2018.
Police arrested two suspects for allegedly damaging the Buddha statues.
They said one of the suspects was arrested after he was captured by the villagers. (Saman Wijaya Bandara)
