Heavy rainfalls which could go up to 150 mm are expected in some parts of the island during the coming days, Department of Meteorology said today.
Accordingly, heavy showers are expected in Kalutara, Kegalle, Ratnapura, Kurunegala, Puttalam, Gampaha and Kandy districts while rainfalls which could go up to 100mm are expected at some places in Colombo, Matale, Nuwara-Eliya, Anuradhapura, Mannar and Vavuniya districts.
The showery condition is expected to increase to some extent over most parts of the island, particularly in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and North Western Provinces today and tomorrow.
.Misty conditions are expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and North Central Provinces during the morning.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimise damages caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. (Yohan Perera)
