Although the postmortem was conducted on the black leopard on Saturday (May 30) the cause of death is yet to be revealed as tissue samples have been sent for histopathology, said Dr. Tharaka Prasad, Director – Wildlife Health at Department of Wildlife Conservation.
“The samples have been sent to the Pathology Unit at the Peradeniya University. Therefore the cause of death will be revealed in about a week’s time.” (Kamanthi Wickramasinghe)
