Following the Attorney General’s request, the Chief Justice has appointed three separate Trial-at-Bar to hear the Rathupaswala incident, Prageeth Eknaligoda abduction and murder case and Avant-Garde Floating Armoury case, AG’s Co-ordinating Officer, State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne said.
Accordingly, the CJ has appointed High Court Judges Dhammika Ganepola (President), Adithya Patabandige and Manjula Thilakarathna to hear the Rathupaswala shooting incident.
The CJ has also appointed High Court Judges Sampath Abeykoon (President), Sampath Wijerathna and Gihan Kulathunga to hear the Prageeth Eknaligoda abduction and disappearance case, while a Trial-at-Bar has been appointed for the Avant-Garde Floating Armoury's high seas arms trafficking case consisting High Court Judges Dhammika Ganepola (President), Adithya Patabandige and Manjula.
