Colombo Special High Court today directed the Court Registrar to issue summons on Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundera and former Secretary of the Ministry of Finance & Treasury P. B. Jayasundera to appear before the Court on May 13, 2019.
The Defence lawyers, in the case against former President’s Chief of Staff Gamini Sedara Senarath and three others, today submitted a witness list including the IGP and former Secretary to Treasury as witnesses of the Defence and requested the Court to issue summons on them.
The Defence also contemplated that their clients as the suspects of the case were expected to deliver dock statements with regard to the allegations.
Piyadasa Kudabalage, Neil Bandara Hapuhinna and Lasantha Bandara have been named as the other three defendants of the case.
Indictments were earlier filed against former President’s Chief of Staff Gamini Sedara Senarath and three others over the allegation of investing Rs. 500 million belonging to Litro Gas through Canvil Holdings Ltd. in Helanco Hotel and Spa Private Company Limited, deviously with some unidentified persons.
