Singaporean Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan visited former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa who is under medical care in his country, a source said.
Mr. Rajapaksa told this to a group of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MPs who visited him in Singapore yesterday.
Those who visited him were MPs Prasanna Ranatunga, Prasanna Ranaweera, Thenuka Vidanagamage, Indika Anuruddha and Priyankara Jayaratne.
He had told them that he would return to the country after he is fully recovered. MP Keheliya Rambukwella was also there at the time. Mr. Ranatunga briefed Mr. Rajapaksa about steps taken in preparation for the presidential elections to be conducted later this year. They also discussed propaganda activities. (Kelum Bandara)
