A delegation from the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) yesterday held talks with Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa and sought to sign a separate memorandum of understanding (MOU) with him, informed sources said.
Three SLFP MPs - Mahinda Amaraweera, General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara and Treasurer Lasantha Alagiyawanna - had a meeting with Mr. Rajapaksa and discussed future cooperation.
According to informed sources, they advised Mr. Rajapaksa that they were willing to sign a separate MoU with him in view of the presidential elections.
