Sri Lanka was the first country in the world which was able to recover fast after an IS terror attack, Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera said.
He expressed these views to the media after concluding the meeting held with Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa and several ministers and officials on the current economic situation in the country at the Temple Trees yesterday.
The Minister said he would make a special statement in Parliament on Thursday on the discussion held with the opposition and the measures that the government had taken to upgrade the economy in the country.
“We will provide relief to those affected, subsequent to the terrorist attacks, including pandal makers, virindu singers, artists and even for band teams,” he said.
Meanwhile, he said there was a move by some extremists in the country to have a 'Black July' again in Sri Lanka.
“When I told this to Mr. Rajapaksa, he also agreed on the statement made by me,” he added. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

What a stupid statement from Mangala. Sri Lanka will take at least 1 or even 2 years to recover economically from the attacks. In contrast, all other countries such as the UK, France or Germany had no economic losses after IS attacks.

The fact is that none of you donkeys were able to prevent this debacle, even when details had been provided to your leaders. We cannot say that we have recovered. People will bear the scars of this needless suffering for ever for which the president and pm are responsible. Even if compensation is paid, it will be at the expense of the people of this nation, not out of your pocket. In fact Sri Lanka was the first country that could not prevent terror attacks when details had been provided in no uncertain terms. Better not open your dirty mouth about these matters again.
