The strike launched by railway trade unions was called off after a discussion with Transport Minister Arjuna Ranatunge a short while ago.
All railway trade unions had launched a strike from last night over the Transport Ministry’s failure to sign a letter suspending a shunting driver who was caught intoxicated while on duty.
