Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said today that peace had been restored in the entire country and warned that stern action would be taken against anyone who sabotaged the calm environment that now prevails.
He said stern actions would also be taken against those who post hate messages via social media.
“A special unit has been set up at Police Headquarters which is monitoring website posts,” SP Gunasekera said.
“Any hate speech will be forwarded to the CID for further investigations." He also advised that two residents of Kapugollewa, suspected of having links with a terrorist group, were arrested on Thursday. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
