An Opinion Poll conducted at the Enterprise Sri Lanka exhibition held at Walisinghe Harischandra ground in Anuradhapura showed that 94.35 per cent of people were in favour of the application of Capital Punishment on drug racketeers and rapists.
This electronic opinion poll using digital technology was conducted at the booth put up by the Presidential Secretariat.
At this poll, where 20,992 persons had participated, 94.35% had voted in favour of the death penalty to be made effective for the above convicts while 5.65% had indicated otherwise. (Dayarathne Ambogama)

This poll only represents the region/area from which most attendees came to the exhibition. Not representative of Sri Lanka as a whole.

When things are not according to our thinking we fault the system. Any poll has drawbacks but when it is over 90% in one area it could be accepted the countrywide opinion could not differ by much.
