One passenger was killed while 42 others were injured when two buses collided head-on at the Muwan Palassa area in Minneriya last night, police said.
They said a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus travelling towards Kalmunai from Colombo had collided with a private bus travelling towards Colombo at around 11.30 p.m last night.
The two drivers of the buses were among the injured and were admitted to the Polonnaruwa hospital. The SLTB driver succumbed to his injuries on admission to the hospital. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
