While calling on the government to provide details of the planned status of forces agreement with the US, opposition parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa said that ‘immunity being provided to foreign servicemen on Sri Lankan soil is just one of the alarm bells and point to much larger issues.”
He tweeted that the public should be made aware and have a say in these decisions.
Sri Lanka Govt. must provide a breakdown of the planned Status of Forces Agreement with the US, the parliamentarian said.

This Agreement must be stopped. There is no validity unless the President and Parliament approves it. The Country's security will be at risk.

This is a good agreement. It is a Navy to Navy military cooperation and several acres of land leased at a reasonably low payments. Thus both parties are winners. It would be better to have the foreign forces abides by the laws of a foreign country, cause we have no laws here. How is this in violation of any sovereignty ? Please sign this contract ASAP.

It was your uncle Gotabaya who signed the first agreement back in 2007, whenSri Lanka entered into Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement (ACSA) with the USA. Where were you back then?
