UNP Kegalle District MP Sujith Sanjaya Perera yesterday said a general election will be held two-and-a-half months after the presidential election.
Speaking at an election rally in Deraniyagala, MP Perera said the UNP will get at least seven seats in the next general election if National Democratic Front (NDF) candidate Sajith Premadasa wins the presidential election next month.
“UNPers will benefit if it wins the presidential and general elections unlike in the past. This government was a joint government of SLFP and the UNP. However, justice was not done to UNP supporters during this time. But it won’t be the same after the presidential and general elections,” he said.

Why they cannot have presidential and PM elections both together? Just waste of money, no one cares. All power hungry.
