Four schools will be closed completely and another 23 partially from September 15 to October 1 for scrutiny of GCE A/L answer scripts, Examinations Commissioner Sanath Pujitha said today.
He said the schools that were closed completely would reopen for the third-term on October 6.
The Examinations Department has selected 27 schools as examination centres. The schools that are completely closed are Ananda College - Colombo; Vidyartha College – Kandy; Mahanama Maha Vidyalaya - Matara and Lakdasa De Mel College - Kurunegala.
The schools that are closed partially are D.S. Senanayake College – Colombo; Visakha Vidyalaya – Colombo; Lumbini College – Colombo; Yasodara Devi Balika Maha Vidyalaya – Gampaha; Bandarawatta Parakrama Maha Vidyalaya – Gampaha; Tissa Central College – Kalutara; Welapura Vidyalaya – Kalutara; St. Joseph Girls' College – Kegalle; Saranath College – Kuliyapitiya; Pushpadana Girls' College – Kandy; Girls' High School – Kandy; Mahanama Vidyalaya - Kandy; St. Thomas’ Girls’ High School – Matara; Sivali Central College – Ratnapura; Sanghamitta Balika Vidyalaya – Galle; Sudharma Maha Vidyalaya – Galle; St. Joseph's College – Anuradhapura; Dharmaduth College – Badulla; Wayamba Royal College – Kurunegala; St. Cecilia's Girls' College – Batticaloa; Hindu Ladies' College – Jaffna; Vembadi Girls High School - Jaffna and Shiva Prakash Girls School - Vavuniya.
