Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) said that four non-rehabilitated LTTE cadres have been taken into custody in the Muthur and Sampur areas on Sunday when they were engaged in rejuvenating LTTE.
They had been identified as the residents of Kattaparichchan South, Mahalchena and Ralkuli areas that belonged to Muthur and Sampur police divisions and the two motorcycles that were in their possession were also taken into custody.
Having questioned from them, one T56 rifle, two magazines, 61 live cartridges, one claymore mine, three live grenades, three detonators and 31 live ammunition used for 9 mm. pistols had been recovered. Four suspects had been taken to Colombo Terrorist Investigation Division for further questioning.
They had been arrested due to the information received by the Government Intelligence Service. (Amadoru Amarajeewa)
