Four people were arrested by the Navy with over 3084 kg of beedi leaves during two separate raids carried out in Thlaimannar.
Naval personnel attached to North Central Naval Command arrested four suspects with 2026.84 kg of beedi leaves during a raid carried out in Thlaimannar area on March 29 while 1053.75 kg of more beedi leaves were recovered by the further search conducted at the same area, on Saturday.
These recovered beedi leaves were packed as parcels and it is believed that this is an attempt of bringing those from India.
