The police have advised the general public not to panic based on a rumour that has spread in Negombo this morning.
Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekera said rumours had been spread claiming that there could be a possible terror attack on Catholic schools in Negombo today.
“There is no truth in this rumour about the security situation in schools and the public is urged not to be misled by them,” he said. However, security had been tightened in schools.
Our correspondents said students of several Catholic schools in Negombo had been handed over to their parents following the request by the parents to principals.

No more attacks on Catholic schools. This is to divert the attention and attack other religious schools, particularly Buddhist, if ISIS got the strength, now. So must be vigilant.
