The Attorney General is to file a revision application in the Colombo High Court against the bail order by the Chief Magistrate today in the magisterial inquiry into the alleged offences committed by the former IGP and the defense secretary in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks, sources said.
The Chief Magistrate released former IGP Pujith Jayasundara and former defense secretary Hemasiri Fernando on bail after deciding that the murder charge brought up by the prosecution under Section 296 of the Penal Code could not be maintained when considering the facts before the court.
