The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) will probe the remark made by Pepiliyana Sri Sunethradevi Pirivena Chief Incumbent Ven. Medagoda Abayathissa Thera that some 20 people had allegedly been executed under Sharia law in Sri Lanka, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera said.
He said Acting IGP C.D. Wickramaratne today instructed the CID to launch a probe in this regard.
Addressing a mass rally organised by the national movement against Wahhabi extremism, he alleged there were more than 20 people who were summoned to death in the Eastern Province under Sharia law. “I have evidence to prove this but prefer not to reveal them to the media as the country has a good intelligence service,” he said.
The rally was held last Thursday at the Ananda Samarakoon open-air theatre in Nugegoda. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
Like the fallopians becoming 800 one may expect this figure to rise exponentially !

Thousands of Muslim girls are raped because Sharia law in SL allows child marriage. Why no action being taken?
Chanaka Monday, 08 July 2019 07:15 PM
Must be investigated, since the Eastern province appears to have been functioning like a separate country for significant time.
-Arabic signboards, palm trees, Sharia Uni, agreements signed with Zahran ( music is
" haram" etc). Who knows what else has been happening!!

The revelation made by Pepiliyana Sri Sunethradevi Pirivena Chief Incumbent Ven. Medagoda Abayathissa Thera is indeed laudable. We the Muslims are with this great prelate and we will support him to the hilt. We have one country and we need one law. All these fellows who took the law into their own hands, must be hunted down and charged with First Degree Murder, without any further delay.

Instant probing should be done to ascertain the truth otherwise others may be inclined to make wild statements.

We welcome the decision to probe into the alleged killing of 20 people under the Shariah Law in Kathankudy

Talk is cheap. The accuser has to give the CID hard evidence to investigate. If anybody carried out Sharia Execution then the police can prosecute them. On the other hand President can ask the Sharia judge to take care of the Muslim drug dealers under sharia law.

If you’ll have proof let’s hand over to CID instead of creating havoc in the country.
