After the increase of the price of wheat flour by Rs.5.50 per kg, All Island Bakery Owners' Association (AIBOA) had decided to increase the price of a loaf of bread by Rs.2 from midnight today.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, AIBOA President N.K. Jayawardene said other bakery products except bread would not be increased.
Accordingly, the new price of a loaf of bread would be Rs.67 from midnight today. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

Ohhh. One loaf by 2 rupees. A loaf is for 2 people. So the 1 rupees increase per meal per person for bread will make the entire nation 'starve'! . What a pity?
