The anticipatory bail application filed by National Police Commission Secretary and former Additional Defence Secretary Saman Dissanayake, seeking to prevent the arrest him over the Avant-Garde floating armoury case was rejected by the Colombo Fort Magistrate today.
Police Commission Secretary Saman Dissanayake filed the anticipatory bail application on July 8.
On July 5, the Attorney General instructed the Acting IGP to produce Nissanka Senadhipathi and seven others before a relevant court in connection with the offences they had allegedly committed under the Fire Arms Ordinance, the Explosives Act and the Penal Code in the Avant-Garde Maritime Services’ floating armoury case.
