A total of 243 Indians including workers and tourists who were stranded in Sri Lanka due to COVID-19 pandemic departed to India this morning, the Katunayake airport Duty Manager said.
He said those passengers were flown to New Delhi by a special Indian flight AI-282 at 9.23 this morning.
"124 Indian passengers will be taken to the New Delhi airport, 51 passengers will fly to Lucknow international Airport and the remaining 68 passengers to Bodhgaya International Airport," the duty Manager said.
Meanwhile, 230 passengers had arrived at the Katunayake International Airport in an Indian flight this morning. (T.K.G. Kapila)
