Experts to discuss cyber laws at Ethical Hackers Forum tomorrow

Ethical Hackers Forum of Sri Lanka will discuss the latest impact on cyber laws on the information security industry during their fifth session at 6.00 pm tomorrow.
Titled ‘A lawful cyber sphere: Review of legal frameworks in information security’, the forum will be held at CICRA Auditorium, Eighth Floor, Unity Plaza Building, Colombo 04.
Resource persons of the session are Jayantha Fernando, Program Director, ICTA Sri Lanka, Lal Dias, CEO, Sri Lanka CERT and Dr. Thusitha Abeysekara, Senior Lecturer in Law, General John Kotelawala Defence University.
Jayantha Fernando is an Attorney-at-Law and was behind the ICT law reform process in Sri Lanka. He was one of the first to specialize in ICT Law, with a Masters Degree (LLM) in IT & Communications Law from the University of London. 
Prior to being appointed as the CEO of Sri Lanka CERT, Lal Dias has served as the General Manager of Informatics International Ltd. Having obtained a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Manchester in 1976, Dias has long standing and well respected career in the IT sector. He also has an MBA from the Murdoch University.
Dr. Thusitha Abeysekara earned his PhD in Computer Law from University of Exeter, United Kingdom. His speciality is in legal impact on database protection. Dr. Abeysekara also has a Masters in law (LLM) in Computer and Communications Law from Queen Mary, University of London, UK and a bachelor in laws (LL.B) from the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo. He is also an Attorney-at-Law.
The forum brings together cyber security professionals from different industries and sectors together into one common platform and provide them with an interactive space for knowledge sharing.
The forum also facilitates increased awareness on cyber security issues locally and globally and takes informed decisions to prevent such challenges; it also creates a hassle-free networking and socializing arena for cyber security professionals.
