Esoft, the undisputed leader in private sector higher education in Sri Lanka, is embarking on a new project aimed at developing the IT knowledge of citizens across the nation with the approval and guidance of the government and the Telecommunication and Infrastructure Ministry.
Under the auspices of this initiative, 15,000 full and partial scholarships are due to be awarded for the globally renowned Diploma in Information Technology, accredited by Pearson, UK’s largest awarding body and conducted through multiple Esoft centres islandwide. Successful participants will receive a dual certification from both Esoft and Pearson.
Sri Lanka is targeting to reach US $ 5 billion worth of IT exports by the year 2022 and create over 250,000 employment opportunities in the IT industry. This project was thus born out of the need to fill the current knowledge gap and ensure that a well-trained workforce is on hand to help the nation achieve this objective.
The Diploma in Information Technology offered by Esoft is already the most popular entry-level, IT course in the island thanks to its availability through a wide reaching network of 45 branches. It assumes no prior knowledge of IT and ensures that participants receive a comprehensive and practical foundation to the world of information technology by covering a diverse range of topics such as Microsoft Office, Internet, email, web designing, graphics, animation, hardware, networking and software engineering.
Today, IT is a key life skill, which is in high demand by employers everywhere. So whether you are just after A/Ls, awaiting university entrance, studying as an undergraduate or even working in a non-IT field, this course can help you build the necessary awareness and skills to face the challenges of living in an increasingly technology-centric world. Scholarships will be awarded based on the results of an IQ test and there is no age limit for application.
Going from strength to strength since the year 2000, Esoft has a strong commitment to corporate and national sustainability and has been awarded the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Certification.
