The website of the Golden Key Hospital has been revamped with improved functionality and a new look and feel, enabling visitors to make appointments with consultants online as well as to access more information on the hospital’s facilities and services.
The revamp has enhanced the user-friendliness of the website, accessible at www.goldenkeyhospitals.com, and is expected to increase user interaction to access information about the services and treatment offered, the hospital said.
Patients can now check the standard visiting days and times of consultants through a ‘doctor calendar’ prior to making appointments, eliminating the need for phone calls or a visit to the hospital for that purpose. They may also inquire on investigations and access information on additional services offered by the hospital.
A visitor to the revamped website will find that the design and layout have been refreshed to address health priorities and information needs from a patient’s perspective. This will assist a visitor or patient to make a decision on treatment without undue delay, the hospital said.
The website enhances the user experience while offering new features including ‘health tips’ relating to the eye, ear, nose and throat. These health tips are updated regularly, enabling visitors who use the web site to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The website is also informative for prospective patients, giving access to a complete list of eye & ENT conditions as well as surgeries and treatments for them.
“We believe that our patients and visitors will find our web site convenient and very informative,” a spokesperson for the Hospital stated. “The site also provides details and openings hours on hospital’s OPD (ETU), laboratory and pharmacy. It now brings the hospital and patients much closer adding value to both parties. As a result, our reach has been strengthened and we are now in a position to better serve our patients.”
The Golden Key Hospital is the only private sector hospital that is a center of excellence dedicated and equipped for all Eye & ENT related investigations, treatment and surgery. This state-of-the-art super specialty hospital is backed by a team of experts and nursing staff with specialised training on Eye and ENT. The hospital is equipped for 3DOptical Coherence Tomography and treatment of all eye diseases. Tests such as Fundus Fluorescein Angiography (FFA), Fundus Photography, A&B scans, Visual field assessment, Pachymetry Binocular Single Vision test, computerised eye tests for spectacles, as well as laser treatment and phacoemulsification surgery for cataracts are done routinely at the hospital.
The recent purchase of an Alcon, Centurion Vision System- the next-generation phaco platform and the only intelligent phaco technology that automatically and continuously adapts to changing conditions within the eye --has significantly enhanced cataract surgery capabilities. The hospital also offers vitreoretinal surgery for problems such as retinal detachment, diabetic eye diseases and intraocular infection.
The hospital is managed by an Advisory Committee comprising of Professor Rohan W. Jayasekera, Emeritus Professor and former Dean the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Colombo (Chairman), Dr. Saliya Pathirana, Senior Consultant Eye Surgeon, Dr. Saumya Paranawithana, Consultant Eye Surgeon, Dr. Dilruwani Aryasingha, Consultant Eye Surgeon and Niranjan Silva (Chief Operating Officer).
