Following the incidents at the Sabaragamuwa University on Sunday, the Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) today said the Minister S.B. Dissanayake would be likely to get that same treatment at other universities.
“It is likely that Minister Dissanayake will face the same fate he did at the Sabaragamuwa University at universities. The students were only raising their voices for their rights and against the low standard hostel built in the campus,” IUSF convener Najith Indika told a news conference in Colombo. Police fired water cannons to disperse protesting Sabaragamuwa University students at the Pambahinna Junction in Balangoda on Sunday, when they tried to prevent Minister Dissanayake from entering the University to declare open the new hostel.
