Wellampitiya copper factory worker Karuppiah Rajendran alias Abdullah, who is remanded over his alleged involvement in the Easter Sunday carnage, was further remanded till June 15 by Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne yesterday.
The ruling was given as the Colombo Crime Division (CCD) had not yet concluded its investigation into the case.
The copper factory in question was owned by Inshaf Ahamed who happened to be a suicide bomber responsible for the Easter Sunday attacks.
Police earlier recovered three cheques with a face value of Rs.7.5 million from the possession of Karuppiah.
Police investigations revealed that the suspect maintained a cordial relationship with Inshaf Ahmed who had incidentally spent some Rs.200,000 on Karuppiah’s wedding.
