The United National Party (UNP) has decided to participate in the meeting with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees on Monday, Party General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said yesterday.
Mr. Kariyawasam told the Daily Mirror that his party would participate in the meeting with Prime Minister Rajapaksa on Monday May 4 but the party hierarchy would meet tomorrow, May 3 to make a final decision on what points they should raise at the meeting with the Prime Minister. Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror reliably learnt that Party Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe had told some MPs that the party should participate in the meeting with the Premier and inform about the party’s stand on re-convening Parliament and on other matters.
