Three people were killed and two others injured in a head-on between a lorry and a SLTB bus near the Sankapala Temple at Embilipitiya yesterday, Police said.
They said the lorry was on its way to Embilipitiya and the bus was heading to Colombo when the accident occurred.
Police said they believed that the lorry driver had fallen asleep at the wheel.
The two people who were injured were admitted to the Embilipitiya Hospital while the Udawalawa Police are conducting investigations.
