Teacher assaulted by a student with a broom stick

A teacher who had reprimanded a student for shouting inside the class room had been assaulted with a broom stick by the student.    

Beliatte Police informed that a sixteen year old student had been taken into custody yesterday, in this regard. The suspect student is a resident of Getamanna area. Sources revealed that a history teacher of grade eleven in a school in the Beliatte Police division had been the victim of this attack. He had been warded at the Tangalle Base Hospital. The teacher in his complaint had stated to the police that the student concerned was reprimanded for misbehaving inside the classroom and he had then taken revenge by assaulting the teacher.
