In addition to severe difficulties which are being faced by the public, they may have to face a serious fuel price hike around the month of May, former UNP Minister Vajira Abeywardena said.
He said the present government had come to power deceiving the pubic and asking for a majority in parliament after the General election.
Even they are unable to control the skyrocketing prices of vegetable and other essential commodities, he said.
The incumbent government may increase the price of Petrol by Rs.40, Diesel by Rs.50 and Kerosene by Rs.80 around the month of May where the vesak celebration takes place.
He lamented that these are the relief measures the present government had promised the people.
