At the Cabinet media briefing yesterday, Minister Gunawardana said the elections were held during the previous governments times when people were dying from dengue.
He said this in response to a question asked on holding the general elections during the Covid-19 pandemic.
When the news was shared on twitter, Sangakkara responded, “Not the most enlightened comment, is it?”
