Parliament has received a copy of the Presidential Commission Report on releasing lands in Wilpathu, it was announced yesterday.
Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri made this announcement in the House on behalf of the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya last morning. It was announced that the copy of the report has been sent to Parliament following a request made by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya from the President.
Deputy Speaker said the copy of the report will be kept in Parliament library for the reference of MPs.
Land release and the settlement of people in Wilpathu has been a controversial issue while a heated debate on the issue in the House was witnessed earlier this week.
