Industry & Commerce Minister Rishard Bathiudeen’s brother was released yesterday after the police recorded his statement, police said.

The Army said the minister’s brother was taken into army custody yesterday and handed over to the police for further inquires.
It was reported that there had been some influence from senior police personnel working under Minister Bathiudeen to release his brother.
